ABOUT THE SUMMIT
This two day event will focus on key issues surrounding the planning, financing, construction and maintenance of Australian roads and transport networks. The event is designed to facilitate a free and open exchange of ideas amongst delegates from both the public and private sectors. It will feature presentations and delegations from federal, state and local government departments and agencies, case studies drawn from local and international projects and addresses from industry associations, contractors, operators, institutional investors and road user groups.
In 2012 a major theme of the event will be improving the efficiency and capacity of existing roads. Innovation in safety, Intelligent Transport Systems, road rejuvenation and traffic management will all feature heavily.
Following on from the success of strategic transport planning presentations at the 2011 summit, there will also be continued focus on transport policy and the realisation of a truly interconnected system.
As it has in previous years, the event will attract delegates from all stakeholders in the road industry in Australia. All major contractors and engineering firms will be represented as will infrastructure owners and operators, private investors, freight and public and private transport companies. In addition, both local councils and state roads and transport departments always make up a large part of the delegation.
