The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)® is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners. It provides
educational forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill and professional growth of its members.
With active participation from individuals and chapters all over the world, the ISSA is the largest international, not-for-profit association specifically for security professionals. Members include practitioners at all levels of the security field in a broad range of industries, such as communications, education, healthcare, manufacturing, financial and government.
With more than 50,000 members who live and work in more than 140 countries, ISACA®® (ISACA®)
(www.isaca.org) is a recognized worldwide leader in IT governance, control, security and assurance. Founded in 1969, ISACA sponsors international conferences, publishes the Information Systems Control Journal®, develops international information systems auditing and control standards, and administers the globally respected Certified Information Systems Auditor™ (CISA®) designation, earned by more than 40,000 professionals since inception, and the Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM®) designation, a groundbreaking credential earned by 5,200
professionals. In Oceania, there are almost 2000 members of ISACA® and 1000 CISA® or CISM®s with chapters in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Auckland, Wellington and Port Moresby.
ASIS International has more than 33,000 members and is the largest international organisation for professionals responsible for security, including managers and directors of security. In addition, corporate executives and other management personnel, as well as consultants, architects, attorneys, and federal, state, and local law enforcement, are becoming involved with ASIS to better understand the constant changes in security issues and solutions.
ASIS is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security practices by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security concerns, such as the ASIS Annual Seminar and Exhibits, as well as specific security topics. By providing members and the security community with access to a full range of programs and services, and by publishing the only monthly magazine focused strictly on the issues and concerns of security, Security Management, ASIS leads the way for advanced and improved security performance.
