About the Australian Health Congress 2008
Australia’s health system is in need of urgent reform! Post federal elections, Prime Minister Rudd and his new Labour Government are about to deliver the biggest National Health Reform this Century and it is important that this Summit brings together key leaders in healthcare and service delivery to hear this announcement. Invitees will include both Federal and State Government leaders, hospitals, health insurance and healthcare organisations to consider the constellation of challenges facing our health system.
All Australians are looking toward the new Government to deliver a better health care system and address major issues such as:
- An ageing population
- The increasing cost of pharmaceuticals and new technologies
- The rise of chronic disease in our Indigenous community, and
- The increasing expectations for access to high quality health services in the community without lengthy delays in surgery waiting times
This three day event features not only a conference but a Workshop and an exhibitors’ area and will provide an environment for lasting networking and personal future contacts for delegates, speakers and exhibitors.
