About the Workshop

This workshop will use a simple stylised example of the prima facie (key) impacts of Basel III on a full service bank as a platform to then explore the other potential (behavioural) impacts on, for example: risk appetite, pricing, incentives, process...

Charles is a qualified actuary with wide-ranging experience of financial services businesses in New Zealand, Australia, UK and Asia; both as a consultant and holding various insurance company corporate roles. These roles included product and project management as well as more traditional actuarial roles in financial management and pricing for a wide variety of insurers. He has been involved in the development of capital requirements for insurers and more recently he has focused on banking risk and capital management.
Klaas Stijnen

Klaas is a manager in the Deloitte Actuarial Services team with a strong focus on Enterprise Risk Management. He is a qualified actuary with experience at managing risk in the banking and insurance industry as well as providing consultancy based risk services to a range of financial services organisations. He has worked as an economic modeling expert at a range of risk management framework implementations, building and adapting economic models to meet requirements set out in the risk management framework. In this context Klaas managed numerous financial service company model implementation projects varying both in size and complexity throughout Europe, Asia and New Zealand.
